Anthony Robbins quotes page 2
Every problem is a gift - without problems we would not grow.
Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear.
It is your decisions, and not your conditions, that determine your destiny.
It's not about the goal. It's about growing to become the person that can accomplish that
There is no such thing as failure. There are only results.
In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions.
It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently.
When you are grateful fear disappears and abundance appears.
I challenge you to make your life a masterpiece. I challenge you to join the ranks of those
people who live what they teach, who walk their talk.
Let fear be a counselor and not a jailer.
Everybody in life gets their "should's", they don't get their "must's."
If you can't you must, and if you must you can.
Some of the biggest challenges in relationships come from the fact that most people enter a
relationship in order to get something: They're trying to find someone who's going to make
them feel good. In reality, the only way a relationship will last is if you see your relationship
as a place that you go to give, and not a place that you go to take.
I always tell people, "If you wanna know how to change your lives, I'll give it to you in 3
words, boring as it sounds, - raise your standards!"
Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach.
Choosing a goal may cause only a slight change in your life's direction at first. It's like one of
those huge freighters at sea: If the captain shifts course by just a few degrees, it won't be
noticeable immediately. But in several hours or days, this change in direction will bring the ship
to a completely different destination.
Once you have mastered time, you will understand how true it is that most people
overestimate what they can accomplish in a year and underestimate what they can achieve
in a decade.
Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends.
Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as
well enjoy the process.
People who fail focus on what they will have to go through; people who succeed focus on
what it will feel like at the end.
You don't always get your goals, but you always get your standards.
How am I going to live today in order to create the tomorrow I'm committed to?
Your focus can literally save your life. One of the things I enjoy most is racing cars. I'll never
forget the most important lesson I learned in race car driving school. The teacher said, "The
most important thing for you to remember is how to come out of a skid." (That's a good
metaphor for life, isn't it? Sometimes we get in a skid where we feel like we're out of control.)
"The key to this is very simple," he instructed. "What most people do when they start to go
into a skid is focus on what they fear - the wall. Instead, you must focus on where you want
to go." I'm sure you've heard about people who are driving down some back road in their
sports car, and all of a sudden they lose control. For miles around, there's only one telephone
pole, but somehow they manage to hit it. The reason is that as soon as people lose control,
they zero in on exactly what they want to avoid - and they connect with it. The reality is
that whatever you focus on you move toward.
The harder you prepare, the luckier you seem to get.
You see, we all have problems, disappointments, and frustrations, but it's how we deal with
our setbacks that will shape our lives more than anything else we do.
Beliefs are very powerful, so you've got to be careful about what you choose to believe,
especially about yourself. I can tell that throughout the years, there are certain beliefs that
have really helped me:
"There's always a way to turn things around if I'm committed."
"There are no failures in life. As long as I learn anything from something, then I've succeeded."
"God's delays are not God's denials."
"The past does not equal the future."
"In any moment, I can change my entire life by making a decision."
I think people have to educate themselves to what's really happening right now. We are going
through a transition. It's a season. And every generation has faced some pretty tough
seasons, at some stage. Some do it at a very young age, some do it at an older age. And we
talk about the "great generation." If you are born in 1910, you know, by the time you are 20
years old you were in the Great Depression. When you are 30, you were in World War II. So
our generation has had it fairly easy... With every season there are challenges. Just like
nature's seasons. And there are opportunities.
There's no abiding success without commitment.
The fastest way to change how you feel about anything is to change what you're focusing
on. If you want to feel lousy right now, it would be pretty easy, wouldn't it? All you'd have to
do is think about something painful that's happened in your life and focus all your attention
on it - if you thought about it long enough you'd feel lousy again. How ridiculous! Would you
sit through a lousy movie over and over again? Of course not! So why go to a lousy movie in
It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.
