Albert Einstein quotes page 1

14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955; Albert Einstein was a renown theoretical physicist, and is considered to be one of the most influential figures in modern physics. Einstein is best known for the theory of relativity, E= mc2, and for his influence in the creation of the atomic bomb. He married twice, having divorced his first wife Maric to marry his cousin Elsa. The word “Einstein” has now become interchangeable with the term "genius." Einstein was even once offered the position of President of Israel, though he politely declined. Born in 1879 in Germany, Einstein's parents were otherwise unremarkable. Albert's father was a salesman primarily, though he was also known as an engineer. Despite the common myths, Einstein did quite well in school, was right-handed, and seemed to excel in all of his intellectual pursuits from an early age. Einstein did, however, disagree with the methods of teaching that were imposed in his schools, surmising that actual learning and creative endeavors were lost by students forced to succumb to traditional teaching methods. Later in life, Einstein decided not to return to his home in Germany, as he disagreed with the Nazi movement. Due to his Jewish background, Einstein became a target for Nazi hatred. Albert became a citizen of the United States in 1940. Albert Einstein died in 1955, after denying surgery – he explained that he had his time, and that he would rather go at a time of his choosing. His only regret, explained, was recommending to President Roosevelt that he move forward on the creation of the atom bomb.
